Sucked up rocks :( Pump support teeth question?

I know my impeller and wear ring are toastNo big deal as its end of season, and I was going to order a solas impeller anyhow. My question is about the plastic teeth on the pump support.

The rocks that I ingested broke off half of two of the eight teeth on the pump support, and wore a half moon chunk out of the backs of the rest.

Since pump support replacement is a nightmare job I was wondering if anyone knew if I could simply cut these teeth off or if I really need to replace the whole pump support to keep things running properly.

The concensus on the forum is that all of those teeth can be cut off after damaging one with absolutely no ill effect.
