Installing a boarding step on 04 FX SHO CRUISER

Has anyone ever installed a boarding step. I mentioned it to my local dealer. He went on to say how difficult it is to reach everything and it would be 4.5 hrs for labor alone. I stopped by another Yamaha dealer about 30miles from my house, they said we do them all the time should be 1.5 hrs labor.
Is this a do it yourselfer or is there something I am missing???

I have, on the FX it's is much easier than a XLT as you can remove the alloy bit between the seats.

It is a DIY jobby, but a pain in the a55 as you have to get in the hull to do stuff up on the inside and seal it. Also you have to be carefull where you drill holes in the hull. Just measure twice before you drill holes.

Trouble is the wife don't use it that often.

    Boarding step

Hi, I purchased a EZ on Jet Step from Overtons. Works fine for as often as we use it. About $30.00 plus shipping.

What he said, not hard, just takes some time and def want to measure it right and seal it all up nice. Put one on my bro-in-laws FX, my GTX has one, I like them, kids and wife use them often.
