    OK now I am confused

I have overcome all the hurdles of the first engine rebuild and now I want to know how fast will she go. Today I went to Alum Creek in Ohio and the fastest I went was 39 at 6530. Meanwhile I passed my wife like she was standing still on her 900 which got 51.5 that run, So long story short I have an issue with my speedo. I constantly run 10-15 MPH slower than my 900. Any Ideas? BTW thanks to all you guys for help with this project. I could not have done it without you guys.

I have hear of the tube cracking right where it meets the MFD. Just cut off and inch and reattach. Mine had a similar issue, but it had a crack in the middle of the hose. Had to replace the whole thing.

An aircompressor shot down the hose from the MFD end will clear any debris out. You would be surprised what's up in there.

GPS. And know what you're really getting on both.

I know I need a GPS, but where do I geta cheap one. I have a NUVI 350 but do not think it will handle the ride very well What does a cheap speed only GPS cost?

Bought a $20 Cobra GPS Model 100, from FleaBay. Wrecked it the same day, turns out their idea of "waterproof" and my idea are a ways apart. I did dry it out, get it to work again, and sealed the battery compartment better with RTV. Just have to renew the RTV whenever I change the batteries.

I bought the Cobra to replace my Magellan GPS315; why you ask? Because Magellan's idea of waterproof and mine are a ways apart, as well.... It's not like I'm taking the things scuba diving, either! Just duct taping them to the handpole of a couple of Kawi standups. Never even flipped the ski, just the splashing did it.

FWIW, I like the Cobra better. It's seriously cheezy, but it did recover from the water; Magellan didn't. And the Cobra has a Max Speed; so you don't have to look at the GPS while driving. Easy to reset, too.

I too got a Cobra 100. I did a Wanted To Buy here in the classifieds and 2 people got back to me. Try it, I feel more confident with members here than someone from Ebay. I care less about features, I just wanted MAX speed, which it has.

Mine had a crack right under the driveshaft bushing. A small air leak in the line will show low MPH numbers. I'd just replace the line with new...only a few bucks worth of vinyl tubing.
