    Overheat alarm on 05 RXT

I have a friend that has an 05 RXT and his overheat alarm goes off when he's doing spins etc. for just a short time. Do you think it's a heat sensor problem or what? I had him ride my 06 LTD to see if it was the way he was riding but my alarm never went off so it's something with his ski. Thanks.

This problem has come up before on the forum. I guess when you do alot of spins the exhaust manifold gets really hot and the overheat light comes on, at least thats what i remember from the last time somebody said the same thing.

Doing spins starves the exhaust of water and causes the H Temp alarm.

Mine does it too. Just not doing spins is the answer....

Yeah... but bottom line is if the exhaust is starved of water to cool it is the normal operation of the heat sensor to warn the operator of misuse..... so having the dealer change it to allow the ski to do something it doesn't like(getting too hot) is only gonna damage your components..... these ski's were not meant for doing stuff like spins.... the centri s/c's are made to produce high speeds over a constant period of time....

LOL, my son has been spinning the [email protected]% out of his RXT for over 160 hours, never had a warning ever. What kind of spinning are you doing???

I've had this happen once - required really sustained spinning

Remember that he rode my GTX in the same way he rides his and did not get an alarm on mine.
