    # 3 cylinder problems ultra 250x

    What's up guys I'm new to the board and jet ski's so bare with me
    I've had this ski for about a week and I was talking to someone who heard
    that the # 3 cyl. were getting damaged due to a lack of lubrication ?
    I have not searched any old threads so if this has been asked before my
    apploigies ..... Has anyone heard of this ? Ski has 8 hours on it and runs
    really strong so any input would be great .
    Thanks..............

    My Ski Is Having The Engine Replaced @46 Hrs. Dealer Is Having Issues With Low Comp. In #3 Cylinder And Valves Were All In Spec. They Thought The Rod Was Bent. Go Figure.... Other Than That, I'm Not Sure Of Any Oil Related Issues.

    I know when I changed my plugs, # 3 looked a lil different from the rest.

    #3 appeared to run the leanest when I changed my plugs. Also, within the last couple of weeks someone posted #3 rod and piston let go.

    Its not real uncommon for a manifold to have different velocities or flow rates per cylinder so I was not real concerned.

    Ski is new so I'm not worried . Plan on taking it out today for a ride north up the Hudson River . Plan on running the FPO key and she what she can do ..

    True that, I completely agree

    Plus, if one cylinder is running slightly leaner than the other cylinders, and everyone complains that the ski runs rich....maybe that one leaner cylinder is running better. In development, they know what each cylinder is doing, they monitor all of them, not just the whole thing, so they probably added fuel to make the leanest cylinder safe, that's how I tune my cars. {shrug?}

    I was able to speak to the mechanic who told my friend this and he said that there was a total of 12 ski's with this problem and that the engines had to be rebuilt or replaced. He also told me that he thinks the reason it occured was because of abuse and improper breakin . So based on what he said I'm not putting much thought into it anymore I'm just going to enjoy my new toy ........

    Yea man, worst comes to worst you get a new motor, hopefully under waranty. Then you can break it in differently and decide for yourself which way is better lol
