    leaky gas cap

could a leaky gas cap cause a gp1200r to run poorly/not at all
besides it letting water into the tank
    from lack of tank pressure

is your cap leaky?! ... i wouldnt run my ski if it was loose/leaking...

cause i'd think of it like running your car without it being closed up properly.

if there is a problem with the cap, post a thread in the classifieds, and or search in the classifieds... many people here have extra gas caps!!!

    good luck

there is a rubber gasket on the cap. I have an 01gpr and it has the original gasket on it with some surface cracks in it and mine seals fine.

my guess, time for a new one, u could proly make one from a roll of rubber gasket from an auto parts store, not sure though.

got the gasket today (yamaha calls it packing) put in on and put everything back together and it seems to have fixed the problem
