98 GTX RFI - Sucks Weeds!!

    Hi,
I have a 1998 SeaDoo GTX RFI that runs great except it always seems to suck weeds so far into the machine that the weeds restrict water flow into the exhaust, the exhaust gets hot and melts some components, I always jump off the machine as soon as I think/feel there might be weeds but it doesn't seem to help...this is a big pain and frustrating because there are many other sea doo models on my lake(and in the bay where my cottage is) and they don't seem to have this problem..I am extra careful but it doesn't seem to matter.

Does anyone know if this could be something that is common with the model of my machine ??? I love riding my 'Doo but right now the machine is for sale because I am tired of paying for the weeds to get pulled out and for new pipes to be installed.
    Thanks,
    Tim.</SPAN>

only way to stop it is to avoid weeds.....you're probably running in water that's too shallow (near the banks or whatever). other people probably avoid the low spots, and shallow water. don't run it all the way up on the beach either. they can suck debris from 3ft of water. there is no special weed problem associated with your ski.

a strainer will go a long way to stop cloggin the lines too!
