    Jetting for Unported Carbed 1300

What jetting should I use for a nonported, 150 psi compression, stock 1300 with stock 1200 carbs? The ski also has FF and D-plate.

This is my guess. I want to see how close it is.

    112.5 lows

    1.5 N&S black 80 gram spring

    130 main

Hopefully someone can tell me what it really should be.

    Thanks

Starting off by saying " I don't know".

Can't imagine it being to far off from the 12. 130m would be a good start IMO but the 80 gram spring seems a little low. I would stay with the 95.

I think Philip GPR had a setup like this at one time. Maybe he can shed a little light.

Jim, has always ran the 80 gram springs, I think he has anyway. You would think that it would cause a rich bogg down low but not on his skis!

Jim, my ported 1300 with 1200 carbs did not like 135 mains. I ended up with 125 mains and the hi's are at 1.25 turns out for max rpms. With the 135 mains, the hi's gave best rpms at only 1/4 turn out. I would think stock 1300 cyls would need 120-125 mains. I have the same 80 gram springs and 1.5n/s but this setup has a 95 main jet in the return line which nets me 6 psi of fuel pressure at wot. It is spot-on with this setup.

    I used

    Pilot 120
    Main 130
    N/S 2.0
    95 spring

my compression is really high (170) so I wanted the extra fuel

I also lowered the timing and use 94 octane

As you can see I have also been using a low pop-off

the low end was clean, though a little lazy

above about 4000/4500 it pulled really hard

on the top it was delivering the right amount of fuel

I cruise this ski all day and often play running buoys - the extra fuel from the larger pilot and lower pop-off help keep everthing happy

I'm running unported 1300 jugs with 1200 carbs. Still running her rich but I think we have the jetting where it needs to be.

    115 pilot
    130 main
    2.3 ns
not sure on the spring, maybe TCR, my trusty wrench and tuner will chime in.
