    Sportster Engine ?'s

I have been kicking around the idea of buying a used 05 or so Sportster with the 155 hp 4 stroke engine. How hard would it be to add a supercharger to it?? It seems the price jumps from a 155hp for $11,000 to 215hp for $15,000. It doesnt seem like it should cost that much more or am I missing something?? Are there any years that are better than others, I know one thing, I want the 4 stroke engine in whatever I get.

Also where is a good site to buy a supercharger kit for a boat and what price would I be looking at if this is possible??

    Thanks

PWGSX, check your PM's, I am looking to get rid of my 05 Sportster SCIC, only between 30-35 hours.

not worth it. the engine internals are different. the difference is much more than the cost of a supercharger. if you want a supercharged boat, buy a supercharged boat

The supercharged engines have different cams and other engine internals. If you want a supercharged boat buy one.

I do not believe it is the same engine, like everyone else says, it's the 4-tec, but the internals are different. I believe the block itself, and maybe the valves. I know this was brought up before, but did not find it on the board search.

The NA has 10.5:1 compression, the SCs have 8.5:1 compression. The pistons are different. Even the SCs have different pistons: some are cast others are forged. The electronics have different fuel mapping - more HP needs more fuel. Does the NA have the drive gear on the crank to spin the SC? Does the NA block have the mating surfaces to bolt up the SC? Like others have said, buy a SC or SCIC... Ron
