Cool How does the Stator Charge the Battery

My question is, how does the Stator charge the battery and how do I go about checking if the stator is charging the battery the proper amount on a SLT780 1997 Polaris Wave runner.

To test it, just put a volt meter across the battery terminals while running and see if you get between 13 and 14.5 volts.
