    98 Xl1200 52.5gps??

I just purchased a 98XL1200 with only 47hrs on it. It was sitting for about 4yrs untouched. I fired it up with a new battery, gas and recorded 52.5GPS speed. This seems a litlle slow compared to my 99 GP1200 with Riva ride plate, intake grate and fixed tabs (57.8GPS) I am thinking of changing spark plugs. What GPS speeds have you guys recorded stock and tweaked??

that's about right for the older flat xl hull you have. Space down the front of the ride plate to nearly flush with the hull and you'll get a mile or two more.
