Big thanks to some of you for some info and some inspiration...added this last Friday and it was a big hit Labor Day weekend. I used a smaller cc motorcycle battery mounted in hull opposite side of ski battery-just to be safe...100watt system with 2GB ipod...can be heard at 53-54mph very clearly...it really is loud. Amp is mounted in glove box, zip bag is just for extra dryness. Next up...one of these on the wife's GTX.

Nicely done, can you PM me details (since I don't usually read the Kawi section) on where to get the amp and how much? I have new speakers but the little amp from the original "$50 mp3 system" thread isn't enough. The power/sound cuts out at about 75% volume

I did one on my ultra, used the amp from a set of computer speakers since its low current draw. The speakers are in the mirrors and ipod in the glove box. Cant hear it while running though but I run a tdr waterbox so it loud when running.

I like the look of that, debating on putting the speakers in the wifes mirror spots on the GTX, either that or a rear mount (insert bad comments here ) using the rear grab handle. The best things with this system is-the speakers stay put (no glue or sticky tape) and they are 100% waterprrof...not resistant, but proof.
