    1300 BB project

I got the first box from Lowell today so the SLB will become a 1300 rec ported BB. This will run Gas valves, Stock carbs with upraded jetting and Proks for now, Lowell cut head, cylinders with pro-x pistons, VFIII's, D-Plate and stock ignition. I hope to make this a strong pulling reliable everyday ski.

Did you send him 1200 or 1300 jugs to port (or bore and port)? I am trying to find out which is a better starting point...

Yellow I spoke with Bill the other night on the phone and if I am not mistaken he sent 1200 cylinders for port and bore work. If you are looking for detailed info give bill a pm he is a jam up guy and knows his chit. He is also one of those guys that don't require the secret hand shake. If you know what I mean?

Yes they are 1200 66V cylinders. When I sent them they were black still can't figure out the silver paint. I know when they go through the striping and plating process they end up raw aluminum, I will have to ask Lowell. Nothing a little time with the rattle can won't take care of though. I have an OEM replacement cylinder on another ski that was silver I painted with black high temp engine enamel and it did not adhere well, seems to scratch real easy any suggestions on a better paint to use?

The same thing happened to me and on my first build I painted them. But on the second one I left them silver. They still look great.....You might consider leaving them alone.....
