    250X custom impellars

Is there anything new for the 250X?

    Aftermarket?
    inhouse custom tweaking of stock?
    Keep the stock for now?

    Smile Impellers?

    Hi.

I have two impellers that I am working with myself, and David Stewart at IMPROS.

David and I have worked close testing impellers and
presently I have a OEM reworked Stock impeller, and a Set-Back type Sea-Doo impeller with a Kawasaki hub on it.

The reworked oem works VERY NICE!.........excellent hook-up and great midrange.......the pitch and the trailing edge has been modified greatly. We have chosen to take another route to power and speed.
Instead of trying to make the ski rev more for more top-end speed we tried to load the motor more with more pitch for more speed...........works really well.

68.9 mph @7560 rpm / riva plate and no engine mods.

When it cools down here in Tennessee I will be very interested in the cool air rpm and speed

The Sea-Doo impeller testing has shown some cavitation but increased speed and rpm and GREAT HOLESHOT!........even with the cavitation. That impeller is at IMPROS now being repitched on the low end...............this impeller shows more promise than the reworked stock impeller.

When I get my final results done in a couple of weeks....I will be more than happy to post them.

I have been wondering when a new or repitched stock impellar will be worth it. The 12-20 and the solas both look like they get close to the same speed but rpms are lower. I wonder when more people start running the new pulleys if a new impellar will show much benefit.

I am thinking even if you do not gain much speed you may be able to use it as a side benefit to lower engine rpm and SC rpm. I know both will be well below the limits, but I would much rather turn a lower rpm and run the same speed.

Cool Ultra 250 impeller Final Test!

I have finally got the OEM IMPELLER back from David Stewart from IMPROS..........We have sent it back and forth a few times and we now believe that we are on target for a impeller for the 250!

So far the modded 250 impeller has been the best!

I have it installed and ready to go.

Will lake test tomorrow or Monday...........and I WILL post the results of BOTH impellers I have been working with!

Also a pump modification that works well..........

    Impeller nut torque

I was just thinking about another post where the guy had his whole motor sieze as a result of the impeller coming loose. Now I'm a bit scared. I swapped my stock (worn) prop for a solas and at the time didn't pay a great deal of attention to the torque on the nut when I was putting it back together. I didn't put any new loctite on and just tightend it to approx the effort it took me to get it off. It's been running OK for about 5 hrs now but should I pull it and check? What do you guys think?
