Stepping Motor code54
I get a check enging light and a code 54 "Stepping Motor Malfunction" on '06GPR but the performance does not seem to suffer. It comes on at some point in a run; most of the time but not allways.
I've unplugged, diElec greeced and repluged the connection at the throt bodies.(thanx to Shibbys monkey arms...CLICK)
Q1: What the F#*$ is a Stepping Motor?
Q2: Do I need parts or is there a "passive" resistor to fool the ECU?

If I am not mistaken, I beleive it helps control the idle..............I think thats what WFO told me.
when I did that EFi conversion, I looked over that TB assembly well and I remember seeing that stepping motor has a little nub that pressed against one of the throttle tabs where the spring attached between #2 & #3 throttle bodies. It presses on it to help keep the ski at the proper idle.
* The ECU controls the stepper motor output for the opening of the throttle body butterflies to maintain the proper idle.
THROTTLE BODY ASSY.
