I did mine about the same as XXX maybe a little harder. Past about 6 hrs or so, as some members would say "I ran it like I stole it" I had a small increase in oil level from gas the first 2 changes. I'm on my 3rd change and so far, no increase.

took off all the seats on a calm day. I did my 1 hour straight on normal 1300 rpm idle on the trailer in the lake , after that I run full throttle until 7 hours than I switched to Mobil 1 fully synthetic. Now it's 13 hours no oil and gas issue problem. I believe after 1 hour conservatively runing on normal idle, the engine evenly polish all internal parts. Hope this help. This is my logicaly thinking.

Thats the worst thing you can do to break in a motor is idle it for that amount of time, the rings need pressure on them to seat.
