    Three cheers for pissers

Went out today and had a great time. However while cruising down the channel to get to the gulf there was quite a bit of grass. I hit a few patches of grass, and each time I could look at the pissers and if they dropped off I could immediately kill the motor while still up on a plane. Once killed there was no suction at the cooling intake, and the forward motion I was still carrying usually flushed out the grass that was plugging the pickup. Start back up and went on my way to jumping huge swells at Port Aransas, Tx.

Adding the pissers removed the thermostat and buzzer, but I saw the loss of cooling flow before things even heated up. Glad I saw that mod on here and I encourage anyone else to do the same.

Yeah they work great and real happy that I added them. Only thing is my flanges that I made for the fittings are kinda iffy. Made them out of aluminum flat bar and they aren't quite thick enough to provide sufficient threads when I tapped them for the hose fittings. I want to get some of those octane water bypass fittings, but what I've found are like 20 bucks each.

Hmm.... I'm sure if someone had access to a waterjet and could knock these out of 1/4" plate for pretty cheap, they'd become pretty popular. It's just a flat flange with three holes in it... sooo simple. Anyone? Bueller?

How about 12 bucks each (what I paid) for the Octane aluminum purty units??
    Maybe tap the heads?
Oh wait this is on the Fuji engine, Octane units will not fit.
The other thing about the pissers is you can add the restrictors and even out the cylinder temp.

Oh yeah I forgot about those octane flanges not fitting. Well crap. Double crap because nope you can't really tap the heads. The angle inside there makes it next to impossible. I was able to make it work on mine, just don't want to trust my homemade flanges for permanent use. Puh puh puh puhleeze someone make some of these?

And don't forget the "COOL" factor!!!!! I get comments alot about mine. One Sea Poo owner asked if my hull was filling up with that much water that the bilge pump was working over time? He didn't grasp the idea that it was cooling water. Just the way it looked.
