    Looking for advice-98 GP1200

Hello everyone! Looking for ideas for the ride plate on my buddys GP. So far we have tried,Riva Groovy( too squirrely) speed tech( porpoising like crazy) & Stock ( so far the best all around, but still jumps) . The mods on this ski are,R&D power plenum, reed stuffers/spacer,protec intake grate, tau ceti trim tabs, beach house sponsons & a Solas XO Impeller. We are looking for the best "top end" plate, that will keep the ski in the water. Thanks! Jack

R & D with the Group K cut. That should work the best in glassy water for top end.

How does this setup affect the porpoising ? Are these plates readily available, or do I have to start looking for one used? Thanks, Jack

It works great. I just had to shim the front down a little to make it close to flush with the hull and intake grate. My GPS been screwy on me though so i didnt get a max speed with it on yet.

They are going to be hard to find used. Everybody that has one does not plan on selling it. R&D still makes the plate and you can still send it to Group K.

Would this be the "offshore" plate offered on their website?

You might be able to buy it through greenhulk.net's web store. If not try Greater yamaha, Parker Yamaha or some of the other on-line dealers. You might even catch one on a close-out sale. Old inventory is not good for the bottom line......
