Splash Guard...Do you really need it?

I ordered a splash guard and was going to put it on tomorrow but I'm having second thoughts about it. I rode the ski yesterday and the ride was not wet at all. Only thing that was wet was from my knees down. The bay wasn't rough at all.

My question is if you put one on your ski, was it worth it? If it wasn't did you take it off?

If you get into the rough, you will want it.
It is not hard to install.

I bought one and never installed it ... the wedge helps keep the ride drier and I don't go like crazy when it is rough ... I slow down a bit. Sure I get a little wet, but nothing like what I had been expecting ... I personally won't bother to put one on, but depends on riding conditions.

I remember why I bought mine. I was going across a choppy lake one day and i was getting pelted in the face with water. I was riding with a honda and on calm water I crush him in speed. That day i couldnt keep up with him. It had nothing to do with the ride. I was getting so much water to the face I was slowing down to get it to stop. He didnt have to slow down because he wasnt getting pounded with water. Hints I bought a splashguard the next day. My suggestion if you want speed in choppy water put it on it works great.

What do you do to put one one. I have heard people doing custom installs because they rip off if you use the hardware they give you.
