    Piston wash check (GPR)

    Ski is a 2001-12r

I was surprised to see this grayish color on the top of the first two cylinders when I pulled my head this weekend- What is that an indication of ?

Ski is running good - no signs of trouble. I just swapped heads to experiment a little.

How many hours? Had a yz125 with about 200 hours on the topend and it was all black.

100 hours --- From everything I have researched today the gray is an indication of lean.

I just found that the fa adapters for 1 and 2 were loose @ the base. I am also jetting up to 125.

It does look a little lean! Not bad, maybe a quick check of your internal filters and such is in order.

I agree, it looks a bit on the edge and I would richen it up a little. The grey is a bit weird though.

    Looks lean and hot.
Richen it up and you might want to do a leak down test for air leaks.
