Why not make a metal 4" intake ???
Why is it that no one has tried to run a 4" intake out of metal instead of using the kanoflex hose ? Besides the $$ factor. I tried searching for this but have mostly come up with the lowes intake or the rear 4" intakes.

metal and 4" would be challenging as hell to squeeze arount the motor and gas tank. mainly I would just assum its cause of $. I just (today) got my kanaflex and it's TEN times more flexible than the lowes stuff. I look forward to working with it too. The inside is almost as smooth as a metal pipe would be. Not ribbed like the lowes stuff. I upgraded along with the new sc'er.
for less than 50 bucks shipped I think kanaflex is a great solution.

It just cost more for no gains. You can also use a large piece of silicone hose to "flex under the engine area without losing any flow. Expect to spend 60-80 on just the hose. The 4" metal bends are over $20 each. If you have an external intercooler, you might need to take a physics class to figure out how to bend time/space to get it all to fit.

Cant you just run it exactly where the RIVA 3'' is going through now ? Im going to take a look in there now , I 'm guessing you can slide it in there the same way the 3'' is there...
Can someone post a pic of what the kanoflex looks like inside ? thanks

My concern would be heat soak with metal pipes.

the air traveling through there isnt in there long enough to get hot from the pipe. it can always be coated against heat.

The air in the engine compartment is allready hot as hell.
In other words unless its a rear intake and sucking air straight from outside it will heat soak.
Go ahead and paint it with something, what do you think the gains from this are gona be?
Im guessing.......... none and to top it off a waste of time and money.

I'm doing one now... using
90 elbow off the sc, 4", 45 elbow, 6", 45 elbow, 24" along the right side of the engine, 45 elbow, 12", 45 elbow, 6" to filter. (about $80 worth)
My friend ACT2006, did his RXT this way and it looks great. Solid and completely smooth inside. I'm doing mine this week. I'll post pics when I do it.
