    Charles Schwab Anyone?

Anyone use it? The closest office is 140 miles but I'm thinking of doing it online. Any good things/ Bad things?

Looking to invest a small amount of money, nothing big and I haven't known anyone who uses it.

    Thanks, Ben

    ING Direct ?

There is also emigrantdirect.com, they pay 5.05% right now.

There is lots of high yield savings accounts available, it just takes a few days to get your money out. I have been using ING for about 10 years now, its been great.

My wife has Charles for a little savings, can't complain, but haven't had to deal with them other than deposit money.

We have used emigrantdirect.com for about 3 years now, interest rate has always been great, I had to call customer service once and they were awesome, no offshore center, answered quickly. My only complaint is the transfer isn't immediate, but then again I usually know when I am going to need a large amount of money and can plan ahead.

In my opinion checking accounts should be with banks that you can walk into and bitch slap someone, savings should be high interest and wherever as long as they are FDIC insured.
