    Head Gasket Question

I lost a head gasket in my 95 SL750 on the PTO cylinder. I have the WSM gaskets in it. Where it was just one I bought one from my Polris dealer so I can get it running again. A guy here told me you cant run one Polaris that they have different cooling holes and you have to replace with 3 of the same. Is that true? Can I get away with using this? Is there one cylinder it would be OK to use this in rather than another if that is the case. I would think they are all the same.

Uh Oh now I am scared I kind of thought that was BS. Has no one heard of this before? Has anyone run one WSM gasket or 1 OEM gasket just to fix a cylinder?

I've never seen the Polaris one.Did you lose it or did it go bad on you?If you lost it I can copy and scan the wsm so you can compare it to the polaris.

Cylinders 1 & 2 still have the WSM gaskets they have little holes in certain spots. The Polris has bigger holes in less spots. I just cant imagine that they can be different as far as cooling. you still need cool water to flow to the same spots at the same rate I figured the guy was pulling my leg

I don't see how it can make that big a difference either, cooling water is cooling water and they have to be designed to run roughly the same amount of water. The difference to me would be compression if one gasket it thinner than the other but it would be so small a difference I don't think I'd give it a second thought.
It's an easy repair and if you have the gasket I say go for it unless somebody has a valid reason not to........anybody??
