This may be a newbie question lol

i blew my motor on tues night so rebuilding it with all new parts on the guage for the hrs is there a way to delete them so with new motor an if i ever wanna sell it doesnt read 257 hrs ? help plz besides buying a new gauge ,there has to be a way to get the hrs to 0 again but how any input would be great thanks

I think this is the same principle as odometer fraud with cars.......just keep the gauge the way it is and say it had a new motor at 257 hours......I would be pissed off if i bought a ski that said 40 hrs and it really had 297....I would take legal action......I think even if you put a new gauge in legally you have to tell them at how many hours you put a new gauge in.....be honest don't try to pull one over on somebody

The hours for the gauge come from the ECU, so you can replace that but if a dealer puts your boat on BUD's it will show him the "true" hours in the MPEM... It's a real mess!
