    question about gas in gpr vs. rxp

    im buying a ski slighly used or new in the spring. And for the life of me i cant decide between the 2 of them. i usually do a lot of research before i buy something it took me a year just to buy the cobalt and i just use it to commute with LOL.

    here is one of my questiosn though. i read the gpr gets worse gas then the rxp. but the rxp has to run on 93 while the gpr can run on the lower grades of gas on my lake the lowest is 89. is this true. if so i dont think cost wise for fuel it would equal out.

    A stock GPR runs on regular unleaded as soon as you start to bump the compression up it will require a higher octane.

    I know some will argue it but on my 12r I am getting just as good if not better mileage as an modded RXP.

    thanks osidebill thats what im looking for. i not modding either engine if i get a gpr it will be 05+ and only mods will be ride plate and intake grate. if i get the rxp i wont modd it at all.

    The stage 2 RXP that I ride with all the time uses about the same amount of gas as my GPRs. We ride an average of 80 miles on a Sunday trip down the St. Johns. The stock one that rides with us gets only marginally better.

    My Stage II GPR eats about 1/4-1/3 tank more fuel than my wife's stock RXP.

    Both skis are great platforms.
