    Dump water overboard back cylinder

Having stock head milled on 03 1300R. Ive seen people dumping the water overboard from the rear line and plugging off the exhaust where it used to be. Is this OK to do? I will NOT be running a jetworks mod. Or should I leave the stock water routing? I also will be using an 05-07 head gasket.

That is the way I do it except that I do run the jetworks mod. You should run the jetworks it's a great mod for the hole shot on the GPR or as far as I can tell any Yamaha.

Do you mind sharing a pic of this ? I have seen it many times with the 3 piece heads but never with the stock one.

    Thumbs up

All you're doing is changing the location of the water exit from below the water line to above; "injected" is right, the jetworks mod will help dry out the waterbox at low rmp's and enhance your holeshot, just like more compression will.

If thats the case then I can just leave the water routing the way it was using the stock head milled. I thought dumping the line overboard would help in keeping it run a little cooler. (discharging hot water from cylinder sooner)

Seems to heat the pipe up a little more for top end while lowering water pressure in the motor. Both of my boats are setup like this with no issues but never did any back to backs.
