    finally find my gremlin

Today i took my motor out because I'm going gas valves. So while the engine was sitting on the bench i figured let me check the phase on the crank, So i pull out my degree wheel and set it up. So i find true top dead center for number 1 set at 0 turn motor to number 2 it's right at 120 degree's so it's on the money. turn to number 3 it's at 248 degree's 8 degree's out checked it 4 times same results. Crank turned on last cylinder 8 degree's. That explains why i have been loosing rpm's every week went from 7230 rpm's to 6970 rpm's So glad i decided to check the phase other wise i would have put it back together with the same problem.

Jim, I could have told you that,
I guess after over 500 hours it was time for a new crank, don't ya think?

Hello Larry, The 1300 motor went in my wifes ski so this is not the 500 hour crank.

Thanks for the post Jim, I had been on the line trying to decide on a new crank, or completely rebuilding mine, with a better front bearing and T/W. I sent mine to Crank Works yesterday, and now I know I did the right thing for my 1390. Good thing you checked it. Hope its faster than even when done!

How much should I expect to spend if I sent my old stock crank to crankworks?

It just spit out the cage on the #2 main bearing no physical damage to crank.
