    Molding and Fiberglassing

I've seen this on both franky Zapata's and Nicolas Rius crafts. there hoods are shaped exactly like the ones that come on the stock bikes but there are no latches. Its all one piece. What process do you have to go threw to do this when it comes to molding and fiberglassing? Do you mold the shape around the stock hood? I also saw it on the Lemione RXT.

You can find allot of guides/how-to's ont he net. (try the car modding/ custom body kit communities).

Basically, make a mold of the stock one on the ski.
Then create your fibre glass part from the mold. Clean it up, and mount it.

ITs pretty simple to do, with the right equipment.

whole process takes a few days from mold to end product.

the red RXT in your first post... that's all carbon fibre stuff from Diablo Racing. The front hood and the rear seat weigh next to nothing and are carbon fibre. I used to own one of those carbon fibre seats when i had my RXT, nice piece.

the RED RXP in your second post is i'm pretty sure a Rotax Racing carbon fibre hood...

the Rius GPR... can anyone say from the picture if that's a Riva carbon hood or is it something different? that GPR is nice by the way, i like it alot.

fiberglassing has always been a trade i wish i knew more about and could take on myself... always find myself researching it on the net but never get motivated enough to jsut buy the materials and give it a shot

Shibby its not the Riva Carbon Fiber good. The Riva hood is shaped totally different. Its more flat and takes out the wind breaker or visor..What ever its called. Nicolas Rius's Hood is custom made. Im almost certain. I havent seen that from any other performance company.
