    96 SL900 still no luck

    ok i fully charged the battery.... it still is giving me the same clicking sound. i changed the plugs still no luck. any ideas? if you really feel like its the starter where is it located? and where could i find a new one?

    Did you try and turn the engine over by hand with the spark plugs out?You can find starters all the time on E-bay.Or some guys are parting skis on here.The starter is located on the left front side of the motor under the exhaust manifold.

    After you make sure the engine will turn over by hand, check for dirty/loose battery cable connections at the battery, soleniod, engine ground, and starter.

    Then test the soleniod with a volt meter.

    Let us know what you find.

    Jump the solenoid and see if the starter turns. If it does, the solenoid is bad, if not, you could have a bad starter.
