    4 stroke oil change

    4 stroke oil change
I was helping a friend change his oil on 06 FX160HO and we only manage to pull out 1 1/2 quarts of oil. After changing the filter, we only put in 2 quarts before it was just below full mark. We did everything according to the service manual which is warming up engine before etc. I have changed oil on a few Yami 4 strokes but never manage to pump out much. With the Ultra 250 I think every drip of oil comes out as I have gotten about 5 1/2 qrts out and top up with only 4 1/2. My Honda r-12x is the same thing, most of the oil comes out. It seems that a lot of the oil stays in the Yamaha's. Any tips on getting most of the oil out?

Are you using a siphon pump? Got most of it out of mine when I did so.

2.7 to 3.0 litres is what I normally get out. I sit the boat on the trailer nose up to assimilate the angle that it will sit when planing. I run the engine for 20 minutes to make sure oil is hot and well scavenged. I use a smallish solid plastic pick up line on the syphon pump, making sure that it is through the second hole in the bottom of the oil tank. I put in 2.7 litres and rerun the unit for 10 minutes, and if it is about the middle of the latticed area on the dip stick, I send it away. REXA.

I changed the oil in my 07 vx110 cruiser for the 1st time. I only did the 1.25 quart, with no filter change. I did tilt the ski up to allow the oil to fill the tank higher. But I think the filter holds a good amount of oil, so you might need to change the filter also. GoodLuck
