URGENT !! Primer Kit install ?

I am installing the primer kit into my gp1200 but I cant determine which is the reserve line, at first i messed up and tapped into the return line but no fuel came out. There are 3 different lines coming out of the fuel petcock. (ON/OFF/RESERVE Knob)

where the fuel line comes from the fuel filter to the carbs tap it there

I do it at the reserve line also just so it's not part of the fuel flow for most of the time and primes quick even if you ran the main out of gas

The return line is the one you want. Just add an extra foot of hose when you install the t for the primer. loop the extra hose with the t in the bottom. That keeps any restrictions out of the fuel flow, and the loop keep enough gas in the lines to get you primed.

the primer is not meant to pick up fuel directly from the tank, but rather to pull it through the carbs, to the return line then sprayed back in the carbs..

thanks alot guys, i had already figured it out, the actual line says RES on it and the gas tank also has two markings, one of them says ON and the other says RES.
    It works like a charm.
I have also heard some people mention that one of the cylinders is running lean, because of something to do with this ??? Or am I confusing this with something else ?? thanks alot guys

I discuss this in detail in my Blue ski thread

    http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...highlight=blue

use the reserve as your main line - the reserve fuel sender line is longer so it does a better job of providing fuel to the carbs when the tank is running down

use the main line to feed the primer

get rid of the red switch - it serves no worthwhile purpose

with this set-up your gauges will still beep when you are getting low on fuel

this is a great idea - I am just not sure if it will work - won't the primer simply suck in air through the return line ???? (the return line simply runs to the top of the tank and then has an opening for the returned fuel to enter the tank - thus the end of the return fuel line is open up to air)
