I would like to know if i should get my cylinders honned before replacing my piston rings. One of the rings snagged on some carbon and busted in two . Is this going to be an issue when i put new rings on the piston? Or will i be ok with just slipping new rings on?

The cylinder looks pretty decent. Alot of carbon in the top ring groove but other than that it looks pretty good.

I would go to Autozone, and borrow a hone($19.00 deposit)and brake any glaze and put a crosshatch in it.Also make sure that the ports all have a slight chamfer.
