i dont bother with a catch can cos any oil which accumilates is ok, it stops parts from corroding, and what comes out is very little anyway

Dude no offense, but that is the most ignorant comments i've heard regarding this topic. The catch can is beneficial in more ways than one. Mainly it prevents the harmful oily gasses that get sucked back into the motor that cause detonation. And detonation blows motors!! It has nothing to do with corrosion and keeping things lubed. This is a little sample of what your intake tract looks like when you dont run a catch can.
RXPrider, Do yourself a favor and run a catch can wether you run the RIVA(great product) or you make your own.

I've takn my ski out and pounded it, and had a few drops in my catch can...other times I have gone for a simple ride, nothing hard, and my catch can was FULL!

Heres mine. Bought an automotive catch can and made a new bracket. Took 250ml of "stuff" out of it after 3hr's hard riding.

I'm thinking jetskibill runs his line back into his intake...like a stock set up. No? I do. My sc looks nothing like the pics you've posted....

The detonation you're talking about...I'm assuming here...is the result of the case not being vented in any way....ie...not into a catch can or into the air intake. No?

It is my understanding that the gasses vented into the air intake do help keep the sc lubed which is definately benificial when salt water riding.

Did you locate the catch can above the level of the block?
