    Cleaning Engine?

I have come to realize that there is a large deposit of salt covering the engine and I was just wondering, what is the best way of cleaning it? Since the first ride on the ski, the engine has been sprayed down with WD-40 and every ride after that so the salt wipes right off but there are of place that I can not get to. I was thinking about just putting the hose on it and just letting the water drain out of the plugs in the back but wasnt sure so I figured I would check here first. What do you guys do?
