How Do You Remove The Fuel Trap Door on a 2001 GP1200R??

Can anyone give me a quick run down on how to remove this "fuel trap door" that I have read about on this site that is a problem on these skis?

I am having a similar problem with my SUV. SLOW! It has a new rebuilt SBT motor. Carbs are rebuilt with pop off set at 45psi. I removed the fuel sleeve with the flapper door completely and it didn't help the performance at all. The only change is that now the Low fuel warning is constantly on. Any idea how to fix that other than jumping the two sender wires together?
