    RXT- Intake Grate

Got my RXT up to 68.3 and looking for more.

    Impeller
    Wedge
    Power Filter
    Filled Rideplate(To be tested)
Reverse Bucket mod (To be tested)
Forward Hull ducting removed(To be tested)
    RXP OPAS Paddles(To be tested)

Its only missing the Intake Grate. Does the grate add speed in smooth conditions or just in the rough?

I haven't seen any speed increase in either case.

I run pretty much the same set up as you do.

What's the "forward hull ducting" and why put rxp paddles on your rxt?

I removed the duct that pulls air from in front of the seat into the hull, I found it restrictive and the exit is too far away from the power filter. When I run with the hatch open I notice more acceleration and top end because of the cooler fresh air getting to the engine. Hopefully this mod will make a diffrence.

The RXP paddles do not move up and down like the stock RXT paddles. Since I had a set from my 06 RXP sitting on the bench. I just blocked the water line and put them on. Hopefully it will stop the nose hunting when off throtle from full and maybe add some speed in the rough.

I also just filled the rideplate holes last night so I should see some more top end. I am testing on Saturday and will post the results.

You need to ask about "skegs".

Have you tried those skegs out? I wonder how well they will adhere to the ride plate? I would hate to buy them and take a ride to find that they fell off.

As long as you apply them correctly and use the recommended epoxy you should be fine.

All RXT's should come stock with skegs in my opinion. Worlds of difference!

From what I understand the 3 seaters do very well with the stock grate. I`ve tested this, and Shibbs tested this, make no mistake tho, the dif grates do have their intended purpose. Depending on riding style and average water conditions would dictate the neccesity of a grate. rough waters better hook-up. I actuall liked the R&D grate with the 2.5 degree wedge when I had way more juice than now. Currently I have the stock grate with a riva 2 degree wedge and it`s copasetic (sp). so far I haven`t become unhooked in average and less than average waters and I don`t go totally wot in the really bad stuff...PR...

Skegs, if applied per Jerry's instructions, will not come off. I hit a submerged rock pretty hard, it roughed up the skeg a little but it didn't come off. Had I not had the skeg I believe the rock would have gouged the ride plate.

    NC,
Can you repair most gouges in the skegs with resin or something?
