Yet another problem!!!! pump removal from hull question

ok here goes. removed intake grate/rideplate/steering. 5 bolts that holds the wearing ring section to the hull... problem is the impeller and shaft arent sliding out of the section in the hull itself. i removed the 3 bolts from there as well and it turns but for some reason the teeth on the impellar shaft seem to be lodged into this part.... its got a rubber boot so heating it seems to be out of the question. i tried prying and pulling and tapping with a hammer and every combination of the 3

    any suggestions?>

By the rubber boot do you mean the one in the hull ?

It isnt easy getting that out of there if its been a while. My first bit of advice is to take your time. A little patience working the tabs is how I got mine off. Just put a screwdriver in the tabs to get some seperation and walk away from it for a little bit. The sealer will break loose from the housing and it will come out.

Another option is to use some straps and fit them into the mounting holes and pull. If you do a search I know there have been some other methods discussed.

After removing the ride plate, use a small pry bar on all 4 corners of the pump.Do not use alot of force. In the pic, start on the top or bottom with the pry bar, then do the same on the other side.Just go from either side, back and forth till it releases. There is a sealant holding the pump in place, even though the bolts are out.Take your time and use small amounts of force. The pic given is my 06' with the 2" spacer, not to confuse it with your year ski,but the same principal is used.

that part itself is free from the backet on the hull it seems the teeth on the impeller shaft are froozen into the piece in the hull. i pull pry and all it does is pulls this piece in and bends the fiberglass. it was a slat water ski that i have found alot of parts not coming off as they should the guy i bought this ski from neglected it very badly

I would get some PB Blaster and let it soak in there. If you have to cut off that boot for access do it. Figure the Gates hose is easy to get and better.
