    Differences in factory style sponsons

So I got a set of SLT (teal color) sponsons from a member here and a set (black in color from what I was told from another SLT of some sort) from the very generous gentlemen in Oswego, NY. I got dimensions for mounting them off the SLX hull I have out back and noticed a few differences between all 3 of them. First, the SLX sponson is longer than a SLT. Much wider and with a deeper reach into the water than the other 2. Next came the black ones from Sharps. Not as wide or with as much reach as the SLX. And finally the teal SLT was the least aggressive of them all. Exactly what I was looking for. Want to still do donuts, but yet lift the back up while reducing porpoising. Just thought I'd share.

xlint,I saw a pair of sponsons from a 785 (I assume stock) that were even less aggressive, nearly flat on the bottom, but as long as SL/SLX sponsons.Might help with your donuts.

I'll snap a pic of the SLX to show the them also. Casey, can you get a pic of them sponsons you speak of? I thought the PRO's were the MOST aggressive of all. Since PRO's had to carve the tight turns of a race course.

I just checked with 785 Lugs, not in his garage. He has them at his shop, said he'll get a picture Monday.I also thought the pro would be more aggressive.Besides the nearly flat sponsons,it has a relief in the side of hull, less sponson outside of hull.

Straying a bit off course, but I thought it's good info. Heat gun on low works wonders on the old faded sponsons. Prob more too.

Thanks Casey. Those look even better than the SLT's for doing donuts and eliminating porpoising. Al, do those look like the ISJBA sponsons you have?
