    DESS By Passing

I'm working on a 1997 GTX and my customer forgot to give me the DESS tether. Has any one ever bypassed it and how did you do that?

    you pretty much cant...

if it has a 787 engine you could bypass the mpem and run an msd enhancer, but thats several hundred dollars and a lot of work that really cant easily be reversed.

so you pretty much have to get ahold of the lanyard or get another one programmed

You need a MPEM programmer. Option 4 is start engine...or go to a dealer and borrow theirs to program your shop key(bring 4 AA batteries with you and offer to trade).
