    Vent fan..PICS!!!

Well after much debate and controversy about my Front vent air intake...I decided I need some ventallation...sooooo

What I did is mounted a 3" blower ron the inspection cover as you can see in the pic..It is blowing over the rectafier, and it will be pulling cool, fresh air from the Black vent Thing In the other pic. I have to drill a 3" hole up under the fearing, and place this in there...You can see in one of the pics my intended location for it...

I am using some 3" Bilge Vent hose to run from the vent opening to the blower, so it ONLY gets fresh cool air! YAY!!!

I also have it mounted up to a switch as you can see from my pic of my glove box. It is a SS switch with a red Led indicator light..Pimp right? I know!

Check it out adn tell m,e what you think!!

What happens when water gets sucked in from behind the fairing and blows thru the fan at around 100mph and soaks the hot rectumfire?

    only kidding, look swell! ...PR...

PR...You always have good things to say! I love it...LOL!

    Thanks, ramnj!

Maybe I should have it blowing out? would that be better? do you think I would get better flow that way or with it pulling air in?

i mean if ya think about it.... either way will work the same, no?

suck air OUT will create negative pressure and air will be forced to find it's way thru small cracks and vents and passages into the hull...

push air IN and you'll pressureize the hull and force excess air to be squeezed out

    pick your poison

I guess I will leave it like it is now, and just have the air being pulled in... IF it dont really matter....

Your cutting a 3 inch hole into your glass, to gain what? 1/2 mph tops? I do not justify this. Only way to increase speed once again is RPM's. And not 50, more like 400. Just will never cut a hole in my glass for something like this.

You havent seen my intake...I used my front vent as a Air intake...the entire thing so i lost all of that vent...everyone was saaying that doing that I lost all of my ventallation in the hull... I disagreed, but I decided to do this as a just incase factor...you know....

Not that it would make a noticeable difference... but the new vent (fan) is lower than the main ventilation source (the rear seat, now that the front vent is for SC intake air). So, pulling air out would work against the natural venting of hot air (hot air rises), while pushing air in would augment the natural venting.

But it probably won't matter much either way.
