RXT Poor hook in the chop
Well I was surrounded by Ultras today and the RXT felt handicapped in the rough. I am faster by like 4 MPH but only in any swells under 12 inches. At top speed I get disconnected alot and the speed drops plenty.
I have moded the paddles , not too keen on skegs and no grate as yet. Does the intake grate make a real big diffrence in the rough?

You may be a perfect candidate for Jerry's stick-on skegs...

I have a RXP and an RXT for my Dad that am messing with these days.
When were running I can bite with acceleration but on top it needs better hook up.
I am going to try the skegs anyone elese with simular results?
I dont know how this post got duplicated??????

I wish we had more options to increase hook up in the chop. I'm seriously considering the skegs though since i ride in very choppy water almost 100% of the time. I can deal with losing a mph or two on topend in glass if the gain in hook up is worth it.

I put skegs on my RXT. Now, it almost equals my Ultra in the chop. The Ultra still hooks up better, but not by much. In light chop, the RXT pulls the Ultra. In heavy chop/waves, you can't hit top speed either way because it's too rough. But, the Ultra still rides a bit better and seems to stay hooked a little better.

If you have a RXT and ride in choppy conditions then the skegs are a must have.
