Finally hit 70
i took the ski out yesterday and did some gps runs. the temp was 80, water 75, humidity not sure but it was was a little sticky. the water was fairly calm. i weigh about 225 lbs(used to be muscle, but prolly not so much anymore lol). anyway i do three runs; first run 70.2, second run 70.1, and third 69.8. i had about 3/4 of a tank. it was pulling really good. i m thinking maybe s/3 or even rude this winter. for now i am just going to ride it until it gets real cold. i am just happy to hit 70 mph club
thanks for the help guys......rich

Nice job. Next is the 80mph club. The Rude SC with a few other mods will get you there.

i can t imagine that couch of mine getting up to 80. i think the hull and weight would prevent it. i think rocko and jerry got rocko's rxt to to do 78 which is unheard of on a rxt(nice job guys) 74-75 would be nice though.

Good work!! I have similar mods and cannot reach 70 reliabily except one time. Still have some work to do...maybe trying a 14/17 instead of 14/19 would help. I have good rpm's at 8050-8120 but no speed. What were your RPM's?

lafjax my rpm's were right on 8100. later in the day it got a little hotter and i only saw 8020-8060. the humidity had increased also. i think i would probably do a little better with the 14/19. i took my pump wedge out because i would come unhooked on the take off. but i know i would prolly get another mph top end with it in place..............rich

don`t let the ski stand up on take off, lean forward or roll out, then mash the gas ...
I have a wedge in the GTX and I know it gave a little more mph, with my stock and modified stock props my ski will jump out of the water, but with the solas 12\20, it`s a bit to tall, takes off good and stays down...and I`m 200#`s and some muscle, but mostly "pork roll" , my favorite breakfast food!...PR...
I`ve had a 2.5 R&D and the Riva 2.0 in there now, for my weight I think the 2.5 was better, a little more hull out of the water when fuel tank is full...

hey PR, whats up? i took the riva wedge out because i could not keep it from jumping out of the water when i nailed it. i try leaning over as far as i could but i just can t keep it hooked. maybe a couple of more cheesesteaks will hold her down.
