Ive been looking at this kit too as an alternative to the Riva Power Filter kit. This one seems to get a bit more air in but without the risk of water ingestion that comes with the Power Filter. Im wondering if its worth it too.

I drilled holes in the cover and noticed better throttle response. The area stays relatively dry and with the the stock intake water ingestion chances are minimal.

Its interesting to me that this kit has an air filter for the air box but also includes the same parts that come with the Surge & Blowoff Valve Air Filter Kit to replace the stock hose that runs from the BOV back to the air box. I just dont get why the stock set up recirculates hot blow off air back to the intake .

Diablo, I made my own filter that is waterproof using "Outerwears" type filter material. Its alot cheaper to do it yourself then spending the money on the the R&D one....BTW it doesnt leak and i ride in all types of water conditions.

I ran with this kit yesterday. Noticeably better hole shot and mid range. Also, lets a good amount of "treble" sound of the blower out; noticeably louder and clearer engine sound.

I have done this R&D mod - you can hear the significant breathing that's going on with the kit. I like it and recommend it...........

(BTW - spray down your engine compartment with FluidFilm {minus the SC belt area) when you do this mod, espeially the front of the engine - consider avoiding doing nose heavy spin turns that promotes water coming over the bow aggressively).
