    Help

    Hey, im new here, and I figured you guys might be able to help me out with a few questions.

    1) What is the difference between an XP and XPL, is it just the year it was made?

    2) Are there any mods for an XP or XPL to make it faster, and how much

    3) How much does it cost to custom paint a Sea-Doo usually

    The XP was the X-4 hull started in 1992 if memory serves me right, continued through 1996, and then the same hull continued 1997 through 1999 as the SPX model.

    Wrench in the mix: In 1997 the XP came out with the "new" Hyperbolic hull, but with the 96 800 engine. It was a dog. The reason? Rotax hadn't perfected the 951 yet. It had so much bad flack they came out with the "Limited" in 1998 to save face...IMO

    2) Are there any mods for an XP or XPL to make it faster, and how much Ha! U must be a newb...not an insult...but u can pay much less than the twice-as-much stroker guys to produce more HP. Plenty of mods available.

    3) How much does it cost to custom paint a Sea-Doo usually

    Depends on color and type. Reds are usually the most expensive.
    A candy job like the image attached would be around $400.00+ in materials.

    and also, how much would a cracked cylinder be? I am looking at a 2000 XP on ebay for $2000 but it has a cracked cylinder.

    May be prudent to get a ski that is already in good runing condition.

    I would expect a new engine would be needed. The crank is most likely rusted. $2k is high when you don't know the condition of the pump, controls or electronics.
