    Help Prop hitting tunnel

    Hey all

    2001 gp1200r 85 hrs

shop installed new solas 13/19, pump cone, wear ring sleave thingy, riva intake.

10 min ride time and the first speed run to reach 45 and all stop.
45 min hand paddle back to shore (I hate boaters that won't help a ski)

Prob is moved into the hull and wear ring. How might this be possible?
This is going to be expensive isnt it?
    thanks for any info phil

Was the ski in there for another problem or just to be modded? Any unusual noise or vibration before this happened?

    Welcome fob.

You mean the prop is hitting the pump liner correct.Do you know if they pulled the washer out that goes behind the prop? Might check the pump bearings also.

    Welcome to the forum!

Did the prop spin off the shaft into the tunnel? Can you take pics and post?

    thank for the replies

The shop had just installed all the parts listed (long overdue cavitation fix).
Stopped by after they took it apart. The nut holding the prop on backed off. So I now get a new transom plate and wear ring also all new bearings this time. I forgot to take pics. But they are going to cover the cost. I will give them a copy of frenchos pump seal photos. Does he get tired of being call a genius.

Will the prop be ok after jamming against the wear ring?

Next is Gas PVs. Servo took a dump also. Do you have to check the clearance at the piston? Or are they designed not to hit? Well I guess if I have to pull the head then I switch to Riva head. I THINK I WILL DO THE WORK ON THEM!!!

I'm on the Outerbank of NC if anyone is ever hear to ride give a call.

hi, glad it all working out for you in the end,the prop will need checking but i doubt the shop will be to up for replacing that unless its quite bad,how bad was the ring damage,?? can you post pics??
ask to keep the old parts if they are cool with that its a plus for you,may come in handy later if re workable
