    07 Ultra or 07 RXT

If you had 10 grand sitting in your pocket and had a choice of buying the 07 Ultra 250 or the 07 RXT which one would you buy?

    Ultra Pros
    Great rough water bike
Good Acceleration Ride Plate gives 69
    Sharp Looks

    RXT Pros
    Dry ride/decent rough handling
Easily modified to go over 70
    Closed loop cooling (salt)
    Price
    Fuel Consumption
    Sharp looks

    Ultra Cons
    Gas in Oil problem
    Wet Ride
    Fuel Consumption
    Price

    RXT Cons
    Washers blow up

I posted this on the Sea Doo side as well.

    Help me decide..........

Ultra 250x, better handling, around $500 or less on mod to get to 70

I get 60-70 miles for every 14-15 gallons. The gas reports I have seen on the RXT for a 69-70 mph boat look very comparale. The ride plate makes the ride much dryer. I have under $500 in mods and have done over 70. Most of the time I am 69+.

Gas in oil, its condensed blow by. I have two ultras and neither one has a real problem. One is over 60 hours the other has to be close to 50.

Niether, I would wait for the 08 SHO ( Yammi) and then make a decision.

I'm thinking RXT-X or RXP-X. If the accel is as advertised and a few parts can get them to 75 ish then that's what I'm buyin. The only question is which? The RXP looks uncomfortable with 2 people on it so I might just get the RXT-X. The SHO looks like a good looking and fun ski too! I think the other manufacturers (Seadoo, Yamaha) have taken a better way to scrubbing the speed and keeping them within the coast guards wishes. I think the big scoop grates and props are a much better way to appeal to the masses than a big heavy hull that creates a lot of drag to keep speed down. This way if you want to go to a less aggressive grate and better prop it frees up a ton of speed. After a year, the Kawi still struggles to break 70 with bolt ons. That's rediculous with 250+ HP. It is a great rough water ski but I don't race or ride in really rough water.

The choices are 07 Ultra 250 or 07 RXT, not the 08s. Whats your choice?
