    2006 RXP...MUCH faster than I though!!!

After 9 hours on the ski, I did several 10 to 15 second WOT runs with the following results:

    69.5MPH GPS/8140RPM - 10 Second Run
    69.4MPH GPS/8160RPM - 15 Second Run
    69.4MPH GPS/8140RPM - 10 Second Run

    Water Temp: 51
    Temperature: 58
    Humidity: 43

Water temps were around 51 degrees so if I take 1MPH off for summer temps that would put the ski in the mid 68mph range. I didn't go longer than 15 seconds because I want to change the oil first.

With these speeds I feel pretty good that the 06 RXP's are not as slow as they have been made out to be.

Next, the mods begin first thing tomorrow morning.

the water temps have to do alot w/ it. A guy name "boataddict" runs 70.x mph on his stocker. He lives in canada. To do mind sharing your break in method? I'm in the process and it looks like you did it right!

Good numbers on the RXP. My father in law has an 06 RXT. Rode it last week and it was slow (62.3) and handled like crap. Pulled out 45 ounces of oil, changed the wear ring, it was toasted, installed the opas blocks, Riva sponsons , Riva intake grate, filled the ride plate holes and threw in a set of Denso plugs. All else stock. 53 degree water and 63 degree air. Ran 66.1 on a full tank and 66.9 on half a tank. Handles like my RXP now, which also has the handling components. Ski is very impressive now, feels like a two seater! I would agree, 06 skis don't appear to be any slower than the 05's. Had 1 to 1.5 foot of chop today and rode the ski pretty hard. Got 5.4 miles per gallon. Father in law was a bit dissapointed before, but now is very happy with his ski

Forgot, rpms were 8180. With a steeper prop she may have run a little better.

I rode it at different RPM's throughout the entire breakin period. Did 1 second WOT at 1 hour, 2 second WOT's at 2 hours and so on until it reached 9 hours. Then I began the 10-15 second WOT runs.

    That was it.

The cooler water temps = about 1 mph. I can touch 70 in the cold with the stock setup and in the summer I only get 69.
