JSU Intake Grate + RIVA Plate
Installed Riva Plate with Stainless Steel JSU Intake Grate - maiden voyage yesterday. Very pleased, 90 F, smooth to slightly choppy conditions.
Texas Intercoastal Waterway, Brazos River and offshore combo
(Freeport, Texas area) - so had water from glass to three foot chop etc...
Great hook-up, bow definately rides higher (which is good).
One item to note - the R&D Pump Shoe Seal Kit fits 'perfectly' in the JSU Intake Grate. The 'take-off' performance was amazing - almost ripped my arms off...(compared to stock grate) - the R&D Shoe Seal Kit probably contributed to that the most. Zero cavitaion/ power delivery was always intant/ torqey. Dont have a top-speed though, I did not have a gun/ GPS handy
Other installed mods - Riva Sponsons, Riva Performance Air Filter, R-Rated Cylinder Head Block-Offs, R-Rated Exhaust Billet Outlet, Blowsion grips/ thug plugs
Also - have never had oil-in-gas issues...32 housr total
I am using Klotz 100% Synthetic 10W40
Change oil + filter every 15 hours

Funny, I called JSU a month ago and they had none. They said they would call me as soon as they were availible. Said he put me on the list.
Guess they dont wanna sell me one.

The JSU that I saw on their website had 2 wings on it.... Or so I believe... the R&D and Riva Proto, for reference, has a single wing.

JSU Intake Grate
Regarding JSU Grate - yes, it has two wings, the tips of the wings are 'reverse raked' - if you have aerospace background you can relate - basically some of Boeings new jets like the 767-400, 777 and 787 have what they call 'raked wingtips'. I was surprised to see it on this grate, very advanced in my opinion. Also the JSU grate is very heavy, compared to stok grate - it is made of Stainless Steel which I feel is superior, especially for strength
Surpised to hear they are nil stock at JSU...
I got my grate about four months ago...have been waiting for the Riva plate to come in before installing
Forgot to mention 'turning ability' - I read a thread a while back about someone who said that they thought the Riva plate hurt the turning ability of the 250X - I experienced none of that - I was carving hard turns and never felt any back-end wandering of losing grip...
It felt very predictable and natural etc
