Thread: major problems

    Question major problems

    I have 02 4-tec limited and todayI was going around 57 mph when all of a sudden ski just came to a stop , but engine was still running fine and still is. I got it up on trailer and every thing is still connected, but when I start it the impeller does not start turning right away like it should. Its almost seems like the impeller came loose from the drive shaft, it can't be broken crankshaft because drive shaft would not be spinning which it is. Hopfully I just have a spun impeller due to old age. Those are the only two things that it could be I think. Please help.

    the crank is broken.......sorry man, common on that year.

    I thought the early year model 4tec broke flywheel bolts quite often.

    the flywheel bolts broken would stop it from starting, but the prop shaft driven off the crank.........the snout breaks and just sits in the pto cover. I have located several of these looking for a good case. If your crank is bad have u considered what u might do repair-wise?

    Have Bruce order up your X model and I will drive over there and yank the broken crank motor out, I can always use a good block I need to get off the pot myself and get that triton dbl. trailer from him.
