Mods for the ultra 150
I had been thinking about starting this thread for awhile so here it is. I started this season with a fresh motor in my 04 ultra. It ran 64.5 first time out 46hrs ridding later and lots of wrenching it ran 69.5. My goal is 72 by the end of the season. There is nothing quite like the feeling of beating up on one of the new 10k plus high performance skis Here is a list of mods on mine.
mod stock grate
solas extended nozzel
beach house sponsons
skiworx heads 42cc
buckshot brm 50's
air intake mods
ipod with speakers in the mirrors
The latest add has been the buckshot 50's. Havent tested with these yet so this may get me to my goal. Here is a link to the pics of the install.

If I hadnt broken off an exhaust stud I would already know Just as well I dont have the new pumps yet. The old ones idle @ 3psi but drop when you hit the gas.

CrazyA (mod in the Polaris board) makes a nice inline restrictor that uses screw-in carb jets as the restrictors. You can adjust the fuel pressure by changing the size of the jet.
PM him, I know he would be happy to hook you up.

Have you had the chance to run the new carbs yet? I am itching to know how they do.

Hope to find out tomorrow picked up the stud and jet I needed today. The mikuni pumps came in yesterday.

Ok got to run it today the results wernt bad but didnt get what I wanted yet. Best run was 69.5@ 7170. This was equal to my best speed but it was turnning 120 rpm higher than it has been. The plug chops looked a little lean on top and im 1 3/4 turns out so looks like a high speed jet is in order. I can tune the bottom end to take off hard but it makes the lean top end worse.
Now for the problem I ran into. For no reason it will start bogging down and start dropping rpm. It did this right before the carb install, I thought it was the motor mount that was causeing it but not. It also acts like it wants to load up bad when you let go of the gas after a long wot run. If you give it a few seconds you can hit it and it will take off normal. Its not loseing fuel its running 3 psi at idle and 5 - 6 psi at wot. Any clues on the bog guys??

Are you sure that the bog isn't from being lean?
After getting the higher RPM's I wonder if a taller impeller would gain more speed?

Hey Morris, I got your message... I will call you tomorrow.. As to your problem that fuel pressure is actually a little high.. We like to see about 1 lb. @ idle and no more then 4 1/2 to 5 at WOT.. I talk to you about it tomrrow!!
